Scammers used this corporate attorney’s name to file trademark applications. It’s just one of several horror stories of attorneys being misrepresented.

When We Were Young
Campbell’s Soup announced earlier this month that it is dropping its surname, so it will be just Campbell’s, like Rihanna or Cher. No word on whether Andy Warhol’s famous painting featuring the soup labels will need to be updated. Or maybe, like another famous Warhol subject, they’ll drop the name altogether and become the soup company formally known as Campbell’s.
Trademark applications in Japan suggest that Nintendo may be opening a Super Smash Bros Hotel. Maybe instead of taking room reservations, they’ll just have you show up in pairs and whoever can knock the other out of line gets the room.
Goldfish is running a campaign where it is rebranding to Chilean Sea Bass, which is meant to show that the snack is intended for adults also, but which is definitely confusing because that’s already food. Now if you go to a restaurant and order Chilean sea bass, it’ll be a mystery whether you’ll get delicious fish or some little cheesy crackers.

If you ask for a permission to use an image and are denied, it’s probably not a good idea to then ask AI to create a similar image.
The University of Iowa sent a cease and desist to a candidate running in the state, alleging she misused their trademarks when she wore an Iowa t-shirt in her campaign ad. Her counsel claims, though, that the shirt was custom designed and doesn’t use the university’s font or colors.
Google’s GEMINI product is facing twin troubles: a refusal of its trademark application and a trademark infringement lawsuit.
Yeah, you can’t get a trademark for YAAHOO, ya yahoo, says the Delhi High Court.
