 Alt Legal Community Event Terms

Thank you for participating in an Alt Legal, Inc. (“Alt Legal”) community event (the “Event”). Please take a moment to review the following terms and conditions that apply to our virtual and in-person events.

1. Personal Information Usage
   Alt Legal will use your personal information, such as your name, email address, and contact details, to operate the Event, provide access, send updates, and communicate about future products, services, and events offered by Alt Legal. You consent to your name and email being shared with presenters and sponsors of the Event for which you have registered. If you wish to opt out of this sharing, please contact us at [email protected] with a reference to the specific Event. Note that opting out will not exclude you from receiving operational emails related to the Event, such as those concerning CLE qualification.
2. Code of Conduct
   Alt Legal is committed to providing a harassment-free and inclusive Event experience for everyone. All participants are expected to behave professionally and respectfully toward others. Alt Legal reserves the right to remove any participant violating these guidelines without refund.
3. Limitation of Liability
   Alt Legal is not responsible for the actions of sponsors, vendors, presenters, or other participants at the Event. All views expressed by speakers are their own. Alt Legal does not accept responsibility for any advice given or opinions expressed during the Event. Alt Legal is not liable for any links or contributions provided by third parties during the Event. By participating in the Event, you knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with attendance and participation. Alt Legal’s maximum liability for any matters arising from or related to the Event is limited to a refund of the amount you paid to attend the specific Event.
4. Technical Requirements and Responsibility
   For virtual Events, please ensure you have a high-speed internet connection. Alt Legal is not responsible for any technical issues on your end or any costs incurred (including mobile data usage) while accessing the Event.
5. Use of Recordings and Media
   Alt Legal may record the Event, including capturing screenshots, videos, and photographs. By participating, you grant Alt Legal the right to use any recordings or images that include your likeness, voice, or contributions without any additional compensation. Please note that all sessions may be recorded and made available online or transmitted to others without further notice.
6. Intellectual Property
   All intellectual property rights in the Event content, materials, and services are owned by Alt Legal, our sponsors, or the speakers. You agree not to reproduce, modify, distribute, license, sell, or create derivative works from any Event content or materials without prior written permission from Alt Legal.
7. Event Security and Privacy
   You agree not to harvest, gather, or share private information from Event participants using manual or automated means. You agree not to engage in any actions that would compromise the security of the Event.
8. No Legal Advice
   Alt Legal is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice during its Events or at any other time.
9. Governing Law
   This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York, New York.
10. Refund and Cancellation Policy
    If you need to cancel your registration, please contact us at [email protected] at least [X days] prior to the Event for a full refund. Refunds may not be available for cancellations made after this time. In the event that Alt Legal cancels the Event, a full refund will be provided.
11. Accessibility and Accommodations
    Alt Legal strives to ensure its Events are accessible to all participants. If you require accommodations, please contact us at [email protected] at least 14 days before the Event.
