The survey originated from TMAE members’ expressed need for robust compensation data to support salary negotiations. In prior years, TMAE volunteers independently created surveys, compiled data, and published benchmarking reports.

- Wide salary range: TMAs’ base salaries range from $36,000 to $360,000, with an average of $105,845 in the U.S.
- Bonuses: Over 80% of TMAs receive bonuses, averaging $5,000 annually.
- Conference funding gaps: Only 57% of organizations fully fund conference attendance, while 15% of respondents self-fund entirely, including using PTO.
