Alt Legal Team | April 30, 2020
In this webinar, Mark Leonard (General Counsel for Jelly Belly Candy Company) discusses the unique challenges in protecting IP for food products and how those challenges inform strategies for CPG brand protection generally.
Mark dives into the various types of IP that are or can be used to protect foods and brands: from trademarks—including nontraditional trademarks for shapes and colors—and utility patents to copyrights and trade secrets. He gives examples of the different types and discusses key examples of the strengths and limitations of each type of protection.
